Splinter heard the slow approach of the Shellraizer long before the modified train car rolled into sight. He turned his ears towards it andwaited, his songs had not been out very long for a usual patrol.
He hoped all wasfine.
Though immediate the single parent in him knew something was up.

Leonardo had begun to feel a bit lightheaded, and the constant motion of the Shellraiser didn't help at all. To keep himself upright, he made himself comfortable against the inside wall of the vehicle. Every lurch made his head pound. He really needed to get out of that 'bounce-mobile' soon otherwise he would lose what little contents he had in his stomach. He was taking deep breaths, eyes closed to try settling his nausea. He really needed to focus on his brother's well-being, but his own need to vomit was making it difficult to think about anything else.
Finally, the vehicle came to a stop and Leo let out the breath he was holding, exhaling slowly. He seemed okay now, but he still hadn't opened his eyes. He wanted to wait to make sure the vehicle wasn't going to move a few more inches before doing so. He continued breathing deeply, then slowly opened his eyes and looked at Raph in front of him, giving him a gentle, reassuring smile. "We're home, Raph." And not a moment too soon as far as Leo was concerned.

"We're home, Raph."
Sweeter words had never been spoken. Raphael smiled weakly up at his brother, still a bit groggy and light-headed from the blood loss and transfusion. Leonardo looked like he was about be sick. Raphael tried moving, but pain instantly shot through his side when he attempting the gentle movement. He gasped and grasped his side; teeth clenching in pain. That was a stupid move. Raphael panted for breath, this time waiting for Donatello's instruction and help before trying to get up off the floor.

Finally. They were home. Mikey looked down at Raph who was still lying in his lap. His heart leaped up in his throat when Raph tried to move, but fell back down; wincing in pain. Mikey put a hand on his brother's shoulder.
"Easy, Raph. Let us help you," he said.

Great timing! Just as they arrived home, the transfusion had reached completion and Donnie carefully set about disconnecting the lines, removing the catheters from both of his brothers and placing bandages over the injection sight. Now all that was left was antibiotics and much needed pain medication for Raphael. He noticed how unwell Leonardo appeared and it caused his heart to ache, knowing that what he was required to do was completely responsible, but it was a small price to pay on both of their parts to save their brother's life.
When Leo announced that they were home, Raph was all too eager to leave the ShellRaiser, but unfortunately his body was not ready to support him. "Easey, Raph..." He echoed his little brother's words, drawing up the injections. The sooner they were coursing through his system, the better.
"Small pinch.." He warned the red-clad Turtle, sterilizing his brother's hip before piercing his skin with the first needle and injecting the antibiotic. The second needle found his forearm, and in a matter of seconds, the task was done. Now all that was left was getting Raph inside.
"Don't try to get up.." And his gaze shifted to Mikey. "We need to carry him in. Take him to the couch." He instructed, hooking his arms beneath Raph's and preparing to lift, gaze shifting toward the front where Casey was. "Casey! Leo may need help getting inside."

Now was not the time to engage in banter or name calling.
The young vigilante crouched next to the pale - ish looking leading ninja turtle and once Donatello had separated him and Raphael and done whatever it was he nedded to Casey drew the arm that had not had the transfusion stuff all hooked up to it and dragged it about his shouldersso her could get his shoulder under Leo's and help him stand up. "Come on Leo, we'll lead the way over to the couch." He encouraged.

Walking over to the Shell Raiser Splinter poked his head in and eyes widened... he glances at Leonardo saw he looked so very unwell and decides for now he would focus on making sure all of the boys where comfortable before getting the whole story from one of them. He shoves the doors open wide for Mikey and Don to bring Raphael out - and Casey helped Leonardo up and out. "Is there something I can get to help Donatello?" He asks his son encase there was something specific beyond preparing tea to sooth and comfort his boys and talking about what happened.

With Raph taken care of, now it was Leo's turn. But he hated appearing so weak in front of his brothers. He was a ninja, for crying out loud. He had taken blows and still walked away under his own power. And now, all he did was give Raph some of his blood, and he was weak and lightheaded...and feeling very sick. However, he did manage to climb out of the Shellraiser by holding onto the wall, willing his vision to stop swimming in front of him.
Once out of the vehicle, he closed his eyes, taking more breaths to calm his stomach, then he felt someone take his arm. Slowly Leo opened his eyes and saw who was beside him. He gave the vigilante a small, reassuring smile to convey his appreciation of Casey's assistance. However, Leo's pride had other ideas. "I'm fine, Casey, I'm..." he cut off as he swayed on his feet a little, grateful for someone to hold onto. Okay, maybe he wasn't so fine. But he could at least get himself into the lair...with help.
With a defeated sigh, Leo made his way inside with Casey.

Hovering for a moment - watching Leo Casey was almost convinced for a few second the leading turtle brother might be able to make it out and into the lairs living space by his own steam... but was glad he had taken a hold of Leo's arm moments later and ouller it across his shoulders. He chuckles a little, softly so the turtle wouldn't hear him -
Though even if their ears were on the inside and turtles were not rumoured to have great hearing these turtles certainly did!
- and holds the hand of the arm about his shoulders and wrapped an arm about Leonardo's shell holding the opposite edge of the carapace. "It's alright bro, I'll tell them you did not really need my help - I was just pretending to look useful." He grins slowly moving at Leo's pace towards the seating area smiling at the big rat fatherly figure.
Okay still even now some times the fat Splinter was a giant talking rat still freaked him every now and then.

Waiting on Mikey and preparing to move their injured brother, Donatello was startled when Splinter suddenly poked his head in. He gazed at his father, slightly embarrassed with how the night had turned out, but also grateful for his offer...
"Yeah, if you could prepare the couch...it's best to keep Raph where we can keep an eye on him. I need to keep a visual over his vitals.."

With Donnie's help, Mikey moved Raph into the lair and to the couch. His red clad brother looked a bit better, but he still looked sick. Hopefully whatever Donnie did in the Shellraiser would help get Raph back on his feet. Although, Leo wasn't looking too good, either. Mikey looked up at Donnie, concern shining in his blue eyes.
"Is there anything else we can do?" he asked. "Raph still looks pale. Are you sure that transfusion thingy worked?"

Seeing Leo so worn down and defeated was hard to watch. He was their team leader, the one the team depended on. They all made their jokes about his position on the team but Casey couldn't imagine the amount of strain and stress that Leo carried on his shoulders, and he did it alone. Usually. Casey never thought about it before but he had to admit that the turtle in blue was one of the strongest members of the group, mentally and physically. Especially the former. It was hard to watch his green pal taking such a hard fall but he was still a trooper. The vigilante was admittedly impressed with the tenacity and determination that Leo harbored within himself.
But sometimes Leo could be so hard on himself, pushing himself so far beyond the natural limits that it was ridiculous. Just then, Sensei had addressed Casey and Leo. Casey was the first to shift his glance over to Splinter where he gave a shrug and an awkward smirk. "Can't complain, Sensei! Could be a lot worse... Heck, have been a lot worse. A little sore but nothin' a li'l rest won't fix. How 'bout you, Leo? You okay dude?", he asked for he was genuinely curious.

Leonardo was still struggling to hold back the nausea, but he wasn't about to let Casey do all the work with getting him inside.
"It's alright bro, I'll tell them you did not really need my help - I was just pretending to look useful."
He gave the vigilante a grateful smile and nodded. "Thanks, Casey." He still wanted Casey close, but Leo made more of an effort to walk in under his own power with minimum help. His concern shifted back to his brother in red and frowned. Raph still didn't look very good, but it was out of their control now. It was up to Raph whether he wanted to come back from this. But Leo wasn't going to let him go without a fight and some words of encouragement.
When Casey asked how he was, Leo managed to pull away from Casey and took a seat on the couch next to Raph. "I'm fine. Is he going to be okay, Donnie?" he asked his brother in purple, glancing between him and Raph.

At least everyone was in and settled and as per usual, the questions started coming. Donatello really hated the pressure that came with being the family medic. He was grateful that he could help his family, but he always felt anxiety and fear when their lives were literally in his hands. This must be how Leo felt every single second.
"It's.. normal, Mikey.." He tried to assure his youngest brother as he quickly gathered the items needed for additional treatment. Bags of saline and another with pain meds. "It will take some time for the blood to circulate, then his color will slowly return to normal.. it's a slow process, but his vitals are good." He answered both Leo and his little brother as he swabbed Raph's arm, sterilizing his skin before pushing the needle into his skin. Luckily he had scored some discarded medical supplies and IV equipment and pole from behind a hospital. The equipment was thrown out for no other reason that it wasn't what the hospital had ordered.
After administering the fluids, Donnie connected the morphine and set it at an appropriate drip. He could always increase the intake if need be, but didn't want to drug his brother up too much...
"How are you holding up, Leo?" He spared his oldest brother a glance, noticing that he still looked pale and drained. "Mikey, can you grab some juice and a snack for Leo?" And his gaze met his oldest brother's... "I know you're worried about Raph, but you need to rest.. I've got this.." Because his brother needed to know that it was okay to take a step back, he didn't have to hold this responsibility, too. Sure, it was concern for his brother, but Leo had done his part.. now he needed to relax and let Donnie handle the rest.

Splinter smiles assured for the moment his sons - all of them would be fine. He watches Casey get Leo comfortable and then watches as Donatello gives Raphael his care, glancing towards Michelangelo as Donatello asks for refreshemnts and snacks for Leonardo.
And noting with a furry brow rise the photo tucked in his sons belt, odd it appeared very fuzzy. "You have something Michelangelo?" He gestures towards the photograph turning towards the kitchen to give him a hand in organising the request and warm a pot of soothing tea for the rest of them.
Usually his teas were not appreciated buuuuut tonight it might be necessary.

Mikey nodded at Donnie's request and made his way into the kitchen, Splinter following. Mikey was so caught up in his own rapid thoughts and worries about his brothers that he almost missed his father's question. Mikey looked up at Splinter when he asked if he had something. The orange masked turtle looked down at his belt. He had completely forgotten about the photo. He had meant to give it to Donnie, but his purple masked brother was otherwise occupied at the moment.
Mikey took the photo out of his belt and unfolded it. His eyes widened when he noticed that the picture was no longer fuzzy, but clear. It depicted four little, oddly coloured turtles. Hoping Splinter hadn't seen it, Mikey folded the picture up again and tucked it back in his belt. Best to leave it for Donnie to figure out. Right now, Mikey had a job to do. He hurried over to the fridge, opened it and grabbed the carton of juice. He also gathered things that would make a healthy snack for Leo.
When he was finished, Mikey placed the snack and the juice on a tray and brought it out to his blue masked brother. "Here you go, Leo," Mikey said, setting the tray down next to Leo. "It'll help you regain your strength."

"I know you're worried about Raph, but you need to rest.. I've got this.."
Leo gave Don a sincere smile and nodded. "I know you do, Don." But to rest? Leo wasn't sure he could. Not completely, anyway. Not until he knew Raph would be okay. Leo wasn't going to leave his brother's side for anything. If they wanted him to rest, it would be right here next to Raph.
Finally, Leo allowed himself to lean back against the couch, closing his eyes briefly. It sure felt good to be home. He already felt a lot better, too. His stomach had finally settled. When Mike came up to him with a small snack, Leo opened his eyes again and sat up, graciously taking the offered food and drink. "Thank you, Mikey." Then he slowly began to eat.

His head pounded with each beat of his heart. It was like his brain was pulsing. He couldn't remember being moved; he must have passed out again. He could feel soft cushions underneath his sore body. The couch. That's right....they were home. But, didn't they just go out on patrol? Surely Leonardo wouldn't have let them leave so early. Raphael tried to move, but something pulled around his torso and arm. Now, he was really confused. What was going on? He couldn't remember.
Raphael tried to move again, but that required energy his body just didn't have. He could feel the familiar presence of his family around him. Their voices sounded worried, but also distant and muddled; like they were talking underwater. Raphael allowed himself to be pulled back under the tide of unconsciousness. He would ask his questions when he woke up. Right now, he just wanted to sleep.

Donatello knew that Leo would remain close and wouldn't find comfort without doing so. The brainy turtle just wished he could be in two places at once; prepare a suitable place for his eldest brother to recover while he finished working with Raph. One the IVs were in place and he fussed with the tubing for the umteenth time, he began removing the shabby bandages that had been thrown together in desperation. His heart constricted as his gaze locked with the exposed wound that had nearly claimed his brother...
"I will need to seal it to aid healing," He said, more to himself than to anyone else. It was a common thing for him to make mental notes out loud. Perhaps an act of self soothing, convincing himself that he had everything figured out otherwise the fear would take control. "I just need to leave it open a few days to prevent trapping any possible infection.." His hands were trembling, and he wasn't made aware of that fact until he applied a new layer of medicated gauze and began placing medical tape to hold it into place.
Just then his brother began to move, obviously in a state of confused sub consciousness. "It's okay, Raph." Donnie tried to soothe his brother, giving his arm a reassuring rub. "You're going to be okay." The brainy turtle assured. "We're all here for you, and Leo hasn't left your side.." He knew those were the words that his brother needed to hear. Despite the friction that often loomed between those two, they were always there for each other whenever one of them was injured. It seemed that Raph had became submerged in the depths of unconsciousness once again, but perhaps those reassuring words had accompanied him, giving comfort in the suffocating darkness.

At the first slight movement from his injured brother, Leo set his food down and moved the tray to scoot closer to him, laying his hand on him lightly. "Raph?" Leo felt much better since he had something in his stomach. He wished the same could be said for his brother. Raph still had a long way to go in his recovery, but Leo wouldn't leave him. He gave Don a small smile when he mentioned that fact to Raph. Raph was in a pretty good place now. He knew Don would do everything in his power to bring Raph back from this.
When Raph settled down for sleep once more, Leo moved the try back to his lap and resumed eating his snack. If Raph woke up again, Leo would definitely know about it.

Casey observed how well his brothers worked together in order to take care of their own. It was that whole family ethic again. It seeped through like an inevitable fog and made their relationship that much stronger. The vigilante had yearned for such love and care from others. Deep down, he would've done anything to be given such a caring life. But growing up where he did left such dreams crushed and without much hope. Casey leaned back and melted into the couch cushions as he watched everything unfold before his eyes. Leo was getting more comfy now thanks to his brothers. They helped one another, fought side-by-side with one another and stood by each others' side.
It was the very thing Casey could never have. He didn't have it growing up and he didn't have it now. The vigilante, cruel and aggressive as he was, knew that he still had a lot to prove to Splinter and his sons. It made sense and he could live with that. But at the same time Casey Jones just wanted what these guys had. They were shunned from the outside world, sure, and in a way so was he, but they maintained their strength through family and honor. Casey didn't have that option. It was dog eat dog where he grew up. The only one you could trust was yourself.
"Good ta see you guys still have that whole 'family honor' thing. Where I'm from, that kinda stuff didn't even exist. You'll be all right, Leo, don't worry. Only one of us can hold the entire world on our shoulders, problems an' all... And it ain't me, bro.", Casey gave a thumbs up gesture and concluded with a smirk.

Mikey sat on the couch next to Raph's head. His brother's face was twisted in pain and Mikey wondered if the pain medication was really working. He put a hand on his brother's cheek; he felt so cold. Mikey turned to Donnie.
"Is the medicine working? Raph looks like he's still in pain," he said.

His head swam with a foggy haze. He had a difficult time trying to figure out which way was up. Raphael moaned and stirred. His eyes flickered open; his vision blurry. The first thing he noticed was the I.V. saline drip that was hooked up to his arm. He then noticed two figures sitting next to him. He tried to say something, but his tongue felt too big for his mouth. Why wouldn't his brain work? What had Donatello given him?

Even though his brother was out of immediate danger, Donatello was still stressing over the situation, as he often did when one of his brothers were injured. Had he done everything correctly? Had he given the correct dosage?! And then came Mikey's question, which only solidified his uncertainties.
"I'm sure it's working, Mikey. He's probably still experiencing some discomfort, but I.. can't increase the dosage without putting him in danger." And at least his brother was breathing and vitals looked good and stable. Of course his brother's comfort was important to him, too. They just had to get him through this.
Then his brother began to stir and much to his dismay, still showed signs of being painful. If only he could take it all away, he would. "Hey, Raph. Can you hear me?" He asked, looming over his brother's face. Realizing that Raph probably couldn't speak at the moment, he gently took his hand. "Squeeze my hand if you can hear me."

It was such a simple command, yet his muddled brain couldn't process it right away. Fighting the urge to drift back into unconsciousness, Raphael managed to force his brain to tell his hand to squeeze Donatello's hand. It was weak, but at least he managed to tell his brother that he could hear him. Man, did he ever want to sleep. Everything looked funny, too. All he could see of his brainy brother was a tall green and purple blur. Raphael opened his mouth to try to speak, but nothing came out. Which was probably for the better. He would more than likely just be making a fool out of himself if he tried to speak.
It hurts, Donnie, Raphael thought and wanted to say.
He had a high tolerance for pain, but being shot was a completely different type of pain. However, with the pain meds his body felt numb. He gave his brother's hand another squeeze, to both reassure his sibling and to keep himself awake.

Leo smiled at Casey when he mentioned about how he thought Leo's family still had the whole honor thing. Well, he wasn't wrong. Master Splinter taught them plenty of strong morals about honor and family. They were the two things that Leo held closest to his heart. His family wouldn't be able to function without both of them.
However, Casey's next comment made Leo bristle and he narrowed his eyes at the teen vigilante. When Leo first asked to be a leader, he had no idea of the pressure it involved. He was responsible for more than just his brothers and friends. It was his job to make plans, carry them out, and make sure they were successful in their missions and made it back home safely after accomplishing their goals. It was a hard role to play, but Leo did it to the best of his abilities.

A huge sense of relief washed over him the moment he felt Raphael's fingers constrict around his hand. Weak, but a response nonetheless. He could hear him and understood. Returning the squeeze and hoping it would provide some level of reassurance, his free hand fussing with the bandages and saline drip to keep him hydrated and the pain medications that he hoped was giving his brother some form of comfort.
He could only imagine the amount of pain that his brother was in, and hoped that he calculated the drips dosage just right. He had studied for moments like this, but being thrust into such urgent situations always made him a bit nervous and when it came to his family's well being, he often second guessed himself. It was a lot of pressure for sure.
'You're going to be okay, Raph. You hear me? You're tough. I know it hurts, but you will get through this..." He tried to reassure, to encourage. Still, seeing his brother's features contorted in so much pain made him wish he could do more! Even though he had done everything humanly.. or..Turtley possible, he still felt so useless!

Then came is father's question and his concerned gaze momentarily shifted to Leo, knowing the question was most likely directed at him. Mikey didn't know how to answer Splinter's question. But, no one was moving to answer it. Mikey swallowed nervously. "Patrol started off normal," he began. "Then we got a tip from Casey that there was something going on down at the docks. So, we went to check it out. But, once we got there, Leo sensed that there was someone else besides the baddies doing bad business and he went to investigate. Raph quickly followed. We found Leo dragging Raph beside him with Leo's mask pressed up against Raph's bleeding side. That's when we realized that Raph had been shot. Unfortunately, Touch and Go were there and the Purple Dragons, too, and they all started to gang up on us; but, then this guy with white hair and amber eyes showed up and helped us out."
He left out the part when the white haired guy's hands burst into flames. Splinter might think he was just being silly.
